Suburban Living in Downtown LA

Welcome to Vista Del Sol (Vista Homes), a private community of single family detached homes in the Downtown Los Angeles area. We enjoy the leisure of evening walks, the laughter of neighborhood children playing, the safety of 24-hr security patrol, easy access to the Downtown scene, and the convenient commute to our workplaces.

Find us east on 1st Street, 1.4 miles from Downtown City Hall. We share our 90033 zip code with historic Boyle Heights, one of Los Angeles' first suburbs, "sufficiently adjacent to the center of the city to make it valuable for residences" (Los Angeles Evening Express, 4/8/1875).

Walk to Pico/Aliso Metro Gold Line Station!

The Gold Line Eastside Extension celebrated its grand opening yesterday, 11.15.09, and we rode it this morning from Vista Del Sol to Union Station in less than 10 minutes! There was a buzz of excitement from the ridership, who included Councilmember Jose Huizar and MTA CEO Art Leahy, onboard our train. For dinner, we counted ~500 steps to walk to the Pico/Aliso Station for ramen in Little Tokyo, the next northbound stop 3 min. away - how delectably convenient!

Thank you, MTA, for connecting Vista Del Sol with Pasadena/Arcadia to the north and Monterey Park to the east, with such an enjoyable and environmentally responsible transportation option: the Gold Line!

Math, Science, Engineering + Technology

Vista Del Sol welcomes our new community high school, the Felicitas and Gonzalo Mendez Learning Center, named in commemoration of the Mendez family's efforts to end segregation in California public schools.

According to the LA Times, "The $106-million center, set to open next month, has two schools: a math and science school and a technology and engineering school" (8/30/10).

"Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar, who played a key role in getting the school idea off the ground nearly a decade ago, said he wants the campus to build close ties to engineering and science-related industries across the river."

Congratulations to our 1st class of graduates, the proud Class of 2011!

Our Builder: Lee Homes

Vista del Sol was built by Lee Homes (Flower Street Lofts, Market Lofts, Matisse @ Playa Vista) in 2005. From their website:

On the horizon, a new neighborhood by Lee Homes is shining bright. Vista del Sol.
